RESIDENTS OF MAYFAIR AND ST JAMES'S PARTY IN THE SUN

The Residents’ Society of Mayfair & St James’s celebrated summer in London's Mayfair, by holding their annual Summer Garden Party in Mount Street Gardens. It was a memorable occasion, with music, dancing, Champagne, and fine food.

Diners outside Richard Caring’s George Club, enclosed behind manicured hedges, looked up from their succulent steaks, fine wine, and cigars, as the Mayfair community passed by to drink Champagne and cocktails and eat delicious food, a few yards away in the beautiful gardens.

Mayfair has transformed into a solid, wealthy, high flying area, with 5-star hotels, Michelin starred restaurants, and elegant clubs. Each estate agent has an important role to play, and they do it with flair and professionalism. Grosvenor, who own tracts of Mayfair, were present as headline sponsors of the Garden Party, alongside JLL, Knight Frank, The Crown Estate, the Palm Beach, The Pollen Estate, and The New West End Company. Estate agent Peter Wetherell was present to support the annual event.

The Lord Mayor of Westminister Councillor Patricia McAllister, Nickie Aiken MP and RSMSJ Committee Members Richard Cutt and Anne Gray, welcomed guests. The Committee is a team dedicated to maintaining the environment and quality of services in the area, in liaison with Westminster City Council.

High calibre entertainment was provided by The Haywood Sisters, West End Musical Theatre Performer Mark Inscoe, The Swing Things, and St George’s School Childrens Choir. The Beaumont Hotel Managing Director Duncan Palmer proffered delicious steak burgers and banana ice-cream sandwiches. Richard Caring’s Birley Clubs, including George, Annabel’s, Mark’s Club, and Harry’s Bar had Club liveried waiters looking after guests with food and cocktails, while JLL New Homes/Sales/Lettings kept Champagne flutes replenished. The Grill by Tom Booton at The Dorchester, and Claridge’s nourished guests with delicious food.

Auctioneer Addison Gelpey worked hard to raise funds on sought after lots, including those donated by Purdey, 34 Restaurant Mayfair, The Biltmore, John Frieda, Langan’s Brasserie, Bacchanalia, Scott’s Seafood Restaurant, The Ivy Asia, and Wetherell Estate Agent.
