Redevelopment of Leconfield House, Curzon Street

Posted on: 23/04/2020

A planning application has been submitted for a change of use and refurbishment of Leconfield House on Curzon Street.

Leconfield House is located directly opposite Derby Street, bound by South Audley Street to the west and Chesterfield Gardens to the east. The planning application follows a public exhibition held in January in which the local community were invited to view the plans and give feedback on the scheme.

The proposals are to convert the building from its current use as office space, to a new hotel and private members’ club. Whilst the building’s superstructure will remain, proposed changes to the building include removal of the two existing rooftop levels and plant, construction of three new rooftop levels, and excavation of three new basement levels. The building’s façade on the ground and first floors will also be replaced with new stone and brick, making better use of the space and providing a new retail unit at ground level. Proposals for a new green wall on the building are also included in the application.

You can view the application and make a comment using Westminster City Council’s planning portal. Just search for the application’s reference number, 20/01200/FULL.
