Pedicabs update from Nickie Aiken MP - 03/06/20

Posted on: 04/06/2020

Firstly, thank you again for showing your support for my 10-Minute Rule Bill (Private Member's Bill) calling for greater regulation of pedicabs in Greater London.

To date, over 2,000 people have showed their support.

I was due to present my Bill to the House before recess but unfortunately, I was unable to do so after the presentation of Private Members Bills was suspended.

Today though, I have some good news that I wanted to share with you.

I am pleased to be able to say I was able to table my Bill yesterday as Parliament returned from recess. This will hopefully mean that it will be debated in the House on June 9.

In the meantime, please continue to encourage friends and family to show their support by clicking here.

Together, we need to send as strong a message as possible to other MPs that the legislation of pedicabs in Greater London has public support. The more people that show their support, the stronger our message is.

The Bill is not about completely removing pedicabs from the streets of London, but making them a safe and enjoyable experience for all and reducing the disruption that some currently cause.

Kind regards
Nickie Aiken
Member of Parliament for the Cities of London and Westminster
