A Sign of Hope Campaign

Posted on: 11/11/2020

Dear Friends & Neighbours,

In such difficult times, it is important to have grounds for hope. A church building has always been a symbol of hope in its locality. So, I am happy to report that the Chapel has been given the go ahead to redecorate the west front, tower and spire on South Audley St, which are presently shabby and downcast, amidst an otherwise well-kept Mayfair. For us taking the bold decision to redecorate invests in a hope that looks to the future. The virus will not overcome us!

We are hoping that work will begin in November and I am writing to ask if you would be willing to contribute to the cost of restoring something of the outer sparkle to this architectural jewel in Mayfair, which has served this community continuously since 1730.

The total cost of the work will be around £140,000. The Chapel has already received a small grant and is applying for other grants too. The bulk of the cost, though, will have to be borne by the Chapel.

Any donation you make would be greatly appreciated. That contribution would multiply in size if you are able to Gift Aid your donation, thereby allowing the Chapel to claim back the tax on your gift.

Donations by bank transfer are the most straightforward. The Chapel’s bank account details are:

Ac. Name: Grosvenor Chapel
Ac. No: 00028654
Sort Code: 40-52-40
Reference “Hope”.
Pay by cheque: “The Grosvenor Chapel”:
The Treasurer
Grosvenor Chapel
24 South Audley Street
London W1K 2PA

We will acknowledge all donations. When the work has been completed (estimated mid-February 2021) and we can all meet again, the Chapel plans to hold a “Thank You Celebration” to which everyone who has contributed will be invited.

Many thanks in advance for your generosity and for contributing to a sign of hope in such times as these,
Every Blessing,
Fr. Richard Fermer
