Help us to end violence against women and girls

Posted on: 13/05/2021

Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea are developing our new strategy for ending violence against women and girls. To help inform our strategy, we would like to invite you to take part in our short consultation.

Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) is the umbrella term used to describe a range of violent and abusive acts and behaviours, including domestic abuse, rape and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, crimes in the name of ‘honour’, forced marriage, stalking, sexual harassment, trafficking and sexual exploitation. These can happen to anyone, but the term ‘VAWG’ is used to reflect that gender based violence is more commonly perpetrated by men against women.

Our five-year strategy will set out our collective approach to ending violence against women and girls and our priorities for making our boroughs safe for anyone living, studying, working or travelling here.

To help make sure we get this strategy right, we want to hear from our residents, businesses and communities about your experiences and what you think is a priority for tackling violence against women and girls.

Whatever your gender, whether you have experienced abuse or not, please have your say by taking our five-minute survey.

Have your say now

Cabinet Member for Communities and Regeneration
