I am contacting you regarding Pride in London specifically, which will be taking place on Saturday 2 July 2022. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the UK’s first Pride, making it one of the longest running Pride events in the world. For more information on the recent date announcement and their hopes for this year’s event please see their recent announcement.

“The campaign for 2022 will commemorate the past 50 years and our evolution as a movement; acknowledging those torch bearers who have come before us and their achievements. As we celebrate and look forward to the next 50 years, we’ll recognise the challenges still faced by our community nationally and globally.”

Pride in London is organised by a Community Interest Company and is run by volunteers. For this year’s event we are working together with a new Board at Pride in London, as well as the event producers Underbelly who have successfully delivered the event in the past.

The event includes a large scale parade, stage performances at Trafalgar Square, Golden Square, Dean Street and Soho Square, as well as Soho generally being animated by many hospitality venues celebrating Pride. While not publicly announced yet, we are expecting the parade route to change for 2022, with the form up starting on Park Lane. The parade will then look to travel along Piccadilly, Piccadilly Circus, Haymarket, Cockspur Street and finish on Whitehall and Whitehall Place, as before.

We recognise there is will be impact to the local area as this is a very popular and well-attended event, as well as from the associated road closures and suspensions, which is why I’ve reached out early in planning.

Pride in London will also be reaching out to you soon via their Resident & Business Liaison team, to answer any questions, concerns or specific requirements you may have. You can contact them on : RBL@PrideInLondon.org I would also appreciate if you could share this information to any relevant contacts in your network who may be impacted by the event.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns and I’ll do my best to address them, or direct you to the right contact.
