Italian Embassy private event in Grosvenor Square on 4th June

Posted on: 29/05/2024

I’m writing to let you know that on Tuesday 4th June from 5-9pm the Italian Embassy (based at 4 Grosvenor Square) is holding a private event in part of Grosvenor Square.

The private event to celebrate Italy’s National Day will take place in the eastern section of the square; less than 30% of the total area would be cordoned off. The remaining parts of the square will remain open to the public as usual and access to the Roosevelt, Eagle Squadrons and 9/11 Memorials will not be restricted at any time. The event will feature a performance space, a large screen, food and drink stands, toilets, and seating areas with umbrellas; there will be no large marquee or stretch tent – please see the attached plan.

The Italian Embassy will be working with our approved event supplier ‘We Are Placemaking’ to manage the event in a compliant and effective way. A temporary event notice has been issued by WCC. The event will be monitored by security staff, the speakers will be turned off by 20:45 and all guests must leave by 9pm. The event team will be in the square until 10pm; the gates will be locked at the standard time of dusk/10pm.

The event set up will take place on Tuesday 4 June from 8am, and the event equipment will be removed on Wednesday 5th June between 8am - 6pm. Security staff will monitor the equipment, including overnight on the Tuesday. Hanna Davis, Account Director at We Are Placemaking, can be contacted on 07712 716 674 if there are any issues on the day.

We will put up signs on the entrance boards to the square from Friday 31st to notify people that use the square that this is taking place.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Many thanks
