This Privacy Policy has been formulated because of the coming into effect of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and terms used in the GDPR have the same meaning when used in this Policy.
We need to keep and use members’ personal data for the purposes of our legitimate interests, that is to enable us to communicate with our members, by sending them such information as newsletters, details of our events (evening seminars and social events), and generally to seek our members’ views or to publicise or improve our services. We respond to concerns from residents as well as working with the authorities to keep the neighbourhood a clean and pleasant place in which to live and work. Examples of the personal data that we keep include a member’s address, telephone number, e-mail address if a member has one, and bank account details. We do not intend to keep special category data.
We try to keep personal data up-to-date but rely on members to provide correct and up-to-date information, and to inform us of any changes. A member has the right to ask us to delete or amend any personal data at any time. We aim not to keep a member’s personal data for more than six years after he or she ceases to be a member unless there is a legal reason to do so.
Personal data is kept secure in a database which is not accessible to others.
We reserve the right to revise this Policy from time to time.
