Phase 1

Drainage

Drainage excavations started on Monday 22 July outside Chill House Coffee and have now completed. The team have located a route to the main sewer under the centre of Shepherd Street.

Trial Hole Investigations

Trial holes are used to determine the ground conditions as part of the initial site investigations. The team completed one trial hole outside Romanys Hardware Shop, and the data gathered is being assessed.

Looking Forward

Drainage

Now that the excavations are complete outside Chill House Coffee, drainage connections to the main sewer can be made. This work is expected to last for approximately two weeks.

Trial Hole Investigations

Further trial hole investigations are planned, and our Public Liaison Officer, Bob Burton, will inform affected businesses once they are scheduled.

Southern Footway

Once material arrives, the main footway works will start on the Southern Footway, which will extend from Carrington Street junction towards The Market Tavern. Connections to the main sewer will also be made from the Southern Footway, once a new drain is installed.

Waste

Thank you for using the new waste points on Curzon Street, Trebeck Street and Hertford Street.
