Cumulative Impact Assessment Briefing for Residents Associations

Posted on: 14/10/2023

As you may know the Council has been working on the revised draft of the Cumulative Impact Policy (CIA). We have now begun the statutory consultation on the new draft CIA which will close on the 5th November 2023.

The CIA is a data led analysis that seeks to identify any impact from the concentration or clustering of licenced premises in Westminster, where that impact may be taking place and what venues could be contributing to the impact. Like the previous version of the Councils CIA (2020), we have identified areas of the city where there is a concentration of licensed premises contributing to cumulative impact. The Council is currently consulting on the revised draft CIA and we will be holding a briefing session for Residents’ Associations so that you can ask the team any questions you may have ahead of responding to the consultation if you choose to do so.

The session will be on 24th October, 2:00 – 3:30 and will be held online on Microsoft Teams and in-person at City Hall. An invitation will be forthcoming, but kindly reserve this date and time in advance of its arrival.

The CIA, when published will form part of the evidence to support the considerations associated with “Westminster After Dark”, the Council’s engagement programme to develop Westminster’s first Evening and Night-time Plan. You can find more information on Westminster After Dark at https://westminsterafterdark.commonplace.is/.

You can see the draft CIA and submit your views on it. Using this link you can make your formal consultation responses using the online questionnaire. Alternatively you can send any responses to the draft CIA consultation to this email address before the deadline (5th November)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email licensingconsultation@westminster.gov.uk
