Dear RSMSJ members,

We are very proud and appreciative of your support with our 2025 events especially three lectures: Before May Fair Became Mayfair by Dr Francis Boorman, Urban Development of St James’s by Peter Heath, and the multimedia presentation Our Neighbour William Blake by Catherine Kelly.
We are particularly grateful to all those of you who joind us at  the Winter Reception at The Chancery Rosewood and the Winter Wonderland tour for Mayfair and St James’s residents.

Please visit our gallery page to view photographs from our evening at The Chancery Rosewood.

Our sincere thanks to The Chancery Rosewood for hosting our Winter Party and for so warmly welcoming Mayfair and St James's residents into a valued new neighbourhood space. We are also grateful to The London Jesuit Centre and The Mayfair Library for generously hosting our events, The Farm Shop for their supply of refreshments and to all of our speakers for their time, insight, and enthusiasm in shaping such engaging programmes.

Over the past year, several important issues have come into focus, particularly the GLA’s accelerated plans to pedestrianise Oxford Street. We continue to work closely with resident associations in Marylebone, Fitzrovia and Soho to ensure residents’ views are heard and the implications for safety and access in Mayfair and St James’s are fully considered.

While it can feel that residents’ voices have not yet been sufficiently recognised, ongoing engagement remains vital.

You are very welcome to share your views with us at info@rsmsj.com.

Looking ahead, we are planning a full programme of events this year including several walks with the Lord Mayor of Westminster - Paul Dimoldenberg and are especially looking forward to hosting our much-loved Garden Party in June.

In the meantime, please do stay in touch and let us know the issues you would like us to pursue, as well as any events you would enjoy attending.

Thank you to those who have already volunteered their help - we will be in touch soon to arrange an in-person meeting.

Best wishes,

Your RSMSJ

The Residents’ Society of Mayfair and St James’s is the official amenity society recognised by Westminster City Council and the Grosvenor Estate for Mayfair and St James’s.

More than that, we are a volunteer-run organisation which seeks to unify our community for social gatherings in the spirit of our neighbourhood, and to support our residents and traditional businesses to fight to protect this special place in the world. We seek to protect residential amenity, and enhance it where possible.

Our resident members are integral to helping us fulfill this mission. By joining the RSMSJ you lend your voices to many, so that together we can be heard and help safeguard our community for tomorrow.
We are looking for more volunteers to join us - we need help with planning, licensing and event organisation.

Resident Membership of the RSMSJ is only £10 per year for individuals, to cover the organisation’s expenses.
Associate and business membership categories are also available, to enquire about joining or
