Posted on: 03/11/2026

New West End Company has announced a festive event taking place on Monday, 9 November 2026, in the newly pedestrianised section of Oxford Street, between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street.

The event forms part of the West End's planned festive programme and will be open to the public from 2pm to 7.30pm, featuring DJ performances, Christmas carols, themed quizzes and other festive activities. A Christmas tree will also be installed in Hanover Square and remain in place until 5 January 2027.

Temporary road closures and traffic disruption

The event will involve additional temporary road closures, parking suspensions and pedestrian management measures alongside the existing Oxford Street pedestrianisation arrangements. These measures will be implemented in phases between Sunday, 8 November and the early hours of Tuesday, 10 November.

Event stewards will be available to facilitate vehicle access to residential parking bays throughout the event. Local Underground stations will remain operational, although residents are advised to check Transport for London for the latest service updates.

Residents with questions, concerns or specific access requirements are encouraged to contact New West End Company directly at OxfordStreet.Christmas@newwestend.com.

Further information, including details of the accessibility ballot, will be available at www.oxfordstreet.co.uk from Thursday, 5 November.

Residents are encouraged to take note of the arrangements and plan their journeys accordingly.
