Royal Parks License Application – BST Hyde Park

Posted on: 03/03/2026

Good morning members,

The Royal Parks have proposed some updates regarding this summer’s BST Hyde Park event.

Due to rising operational and sustainability costs, they are proposing an increase in daily capacity by 5,000 attendees. Importantly, they are not proposing any additional events or any event days or times beyond what was scheduled last year.

The proposal would increase maximum daily capacity from 65,000 to 69,999 attendees.

The Royal Parks have undertaken modelling to assess the impact of this increase. They advise that it would not materially change crowd flow patterns in the neighbourhood and would result in only a marginal increase in entry and exit times. We have asked that this modelling and its assumptions continue to be reviewed carefully in light of residents’ experience, and include the increased littering, travel pollution, bikes, street noise, ect.

They have also confirmed:

  • Sunday evening events, one a school night, will now finish at 10:00pm (previously 10:30pm).
  • No extension of overall event days, or new events are proposed.
  • They will again kindly be providing complimentary tickets for local residents through the Society’s raffle.
  • We have asked them to consider further measures specifically to support families and children affected by evening noise and later finishes.

Please email us to: communityliaison@rsmsj.com, with specific feedback, and concerns or support, as the Society will be submitting a formal response on behalf of our residents.

We encourage you also to submit comments and concerns directly through the planning process. Link: Hyde Park Premises Licence application. The application is now live on the Westminster City Council website and is open for comments through March 28th.

Thank you as always for your engagement. The Royal Parks have indicated they are open to resident feedback, are in communication with us, and we will continue to represent your interests constructively.

Best Regards,
Nicole Rendone
