Five design concepts have been shortlisted in the two-stage open competition to create a memorial masterplan celebrating
Queen Elizabeth II’s extraordinary life of service.
The Queen Elizabeth Memorial Committee and the Cabinet Office welcome your feedback on the designs on the following link - Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Gallery.
Please note: the deadline for feedback is on the 19th of May.
The design brief sought concepts for an emotionally powerful place and a space for pause and reflection, which is sensitive to the site within the Grade I listed St James’s Park. The memorial is envisaged to be a new national landmark of
outstanding quality to honour and celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s unique qualities and values.
The winning design will be announced in Summer 2025 after the Evaluation Panel reviews the finalists’ concepts.
A search for a sculptor to work with the winning design team on the memorial’s figurative representation of her Late Majesty will conclude later this year.
With thanks as always,
