New - Stub Roads Greening Consultation!

Posted on: 01/09/2025

Dear RSMSJ Members,

Westminster City Council launched Stub Road Greening Engagement on Thursday 31st July,  which will be open for an eight week period, closing on Thursday 25th October 2025.

WCC is exploring ways to transform underused stub roads (dead-end streets) into greener, more attractive community spaces. Examples include adding plants, trees, and features like rain gardens, which can improve mental wellbeing, support wildlife and encourage active travel. This pilot scheme aims to reduce flood risk whilst enhancing air quality, biodiversity, and local environment by creating welcoming green areas. WCC invites the local residents to suggest stub roads in your area that could benefit from these improvements to help shape the project.

A website, link - here - has been set up providing information about the scheme and includes an online survey form to leave your comments. If you have any questions about the scheme, you can find out more information by email at stubroadgreening@westminster.gov.uk please also share your views with planning@rsmsj.com
