Brown Hart Gardens – Construction Works Commencement
We have been informed that refurbishment works commenced at Brown Hart Gardens, London, W1K 6WP.
As you may be aware, this project received planning permission in early 2024 to re-landscape the Gardens. The project will create a softer urban landscape in North Mayfair, reinstating the character of historic gardens and offering an inviting space for residents, workers, and visitors to relax. A landscaping plan by Nigel Dunnett, chosen through the public consultation process, will introduce greenery and enhance biodiversity, transforming the area into a more engaging and sustainable environment.
To complement the revitalised gardens, the vacant café will be replaced with a new
restaurant, supported by an eco-friendly redesign of the existing pavilion to improve its
design and connection to the listed deck. You can find out more about the approved plans by using the reference 24/00669/FULL on Westminster City Council’s planning portal (https://idoxpa.westminster.gov.uk/online-applications/).
On-site works, started on 7th January 2026. The anticipated duration is approximately 8 months, with the Gardens expected to
reopen on 7th September 2026.
All works will be conducted in accordance with Westminster City Council's Code of
Construction Practice, which stipulates the following working hours:
The Code of Construction Practice includes limits on ‘noisy works’ periods, which can take
place for a maximum period of two hours at a time, before requiring a two-hour quieter
period. These daily hours are as follows:
