Oxford Street Permanent Bus Changes

From Monday 26 October, the section of Oxford Street between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street will become traffic free. Changes to bus routes and stops will begin on Saturday 24 October, with further diversions overnight on Sunday 25 October.

From 01:00 on Saturday 24 October:

The following routes will terminate at Marble Arch: 7, N7, 94, N113 and N137.

There will also be changes to routes and bus stops serving the area on routes 2, 13, 73, 74, 113, 159, 189, 274, N2, N8, N15, N25, N73, N74, N109 and N136.

From 20:00 on Sunday 25 October:

Buses will no longer operate along the traffic free section of Oxford Street between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street. Routes 98, 139, 390, N98 and N207 will be diverted onto alternative roads, serving new stops on Wigmore Street, Henrietta Place and Cavendish Place.

Overnight Bus Changes: Sunday 25 October

Between 20:00 on Sunday 25 October and 06:00 on Monday 26 October, additional diversions and early terminations will be in place while preparations are made for the traffic free scheme and festive lights are installed on Regent Street.

The following routes will terminate earlier than usual:

• Tottenham Court Road: 55, 73, N55 and N73
• Piccadilly Circus: 159, N109 and N136
• Holborn: N8 and N25
• Trafalgar Square: 12 and N15
• Hyde Park Corner: 22 and N22

The following routes will also be diverted away from sections of Oxford Street and Regent Street: 2, 13, 74, 88, 94, 98, 113, 189, 274, 390, 453, N2, N3, N18, N74, N98, N113, N118, N137 and N207.

Travel Advice

• Road traffic: From the evening of Sunday 25 October, traffic will be diverted away from Oxford Street between Portman Street and Winsley Street. By Monday morning, the traffic free section will be between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street.
• Cycling: Cycling will not be permitted along the traffic free section of Oxford Street.
• Taxis and private hire vehicles: These will not be permitted on Oxford Street. Pick up and drop off points may change.
• Public transport: Buses will continue to serve the area, although routes and stops may change.
• Underground and Elizabeth line: Nearby stations include Bond Street, Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road and Marble Arch. Bond Street and Tottenham Court Road stations are step free.
