Small Actions, Big Difference: RSMSJ Hosts Active Bystander Workshop
Posted on: 21/10/2026RSMSJ hosted a Be an Active Bystander workshop, giving our members and the local community an opportunity to learn how we can all play a part in creating a safer and more supportive neighbourhood.
A big thank you to Neighbourhood Watch for delivering this important session and to Grosvenor, through its People Positive Community Fund, for making this opportunity possible.
The one-hour workshop was practical and interactive, exploring how to respond safely to situations such as harassment, antisocial behaviour and discrimination, and how we can support others when they need help. Through realistic scenarios and open discussion, participants explored why people sometimes hesitate to act, how to recognise when a situation has crossed a line, and the different ways we can safely intervene. The session also highlighted when it may be better not to get directly involved and how small actions can make a real difference.
Creating a safer community is something we can all contribute to. By building confidence, understanding our options and looking out for one another, we can help make Mayfair and St
James's a more welcoming place for everyone. Thank you to everyone who took part!
